Other Abaca-Producing Municipalities being covered in 2011:

  • There are additional of five (5) abaca-producing municipalities being covered in 2011 under the Abaca Disease Management Project and one (1) being proposed to be started in October, 2011
  • Except for Allen, Northern Samar the five (5) additional areas have already been launched last July, 2011.
  • A total of target of 1,872 hectares is expected to be accomplished by December 31, 2011 with a total budget of P6,592,337.00.

The Launching Program cum Technical Training Conducted:

  • REGION XI, DAVAO CITY
  1. The location of the Abaca Disease Management Project is in Malita, Davao del Sur with a total target of 300.0 hectares.
  2. Successfully conducted the Training cum Launching of the Project in Malita, Davao del Sur on July 12, 2011 with the presence of Local Government Officials represented by the Municipal Agricultural Officer, and the Chairman on the Committee on Agriculture of the Sangguniang Bayan, and attended by farmer-leaders particularly from bgy. Little Baguio, and FIDA selected personnel.

  • REGION VII, CEBU CITY
    1. The Abaca Disease Management Project was launched in Valencia, Negros Oriental on July 19, 2011 attended by Hon. Mayor Enrique V. Gonzales together with the Municipal Agricultural Officer, and Chairman on the Committee on Agriculture of the Sangguniang Bayan.

  • BALAMBAN, CEBU
    1. The Project Launching cum Training was conducted last July 26, 2011 at the Municipal Building. In attendance were farmers from five (5) barangays, barangay chairmen, FIDA Officials & field technicians, the two (2) Project Consultants who served as Resource Persons in the training, the Municipal Agriculture Officer, the Chairman on Agriculture of the Municipal Council.
    2. The Launching cum Training Program was launched successfully.

  • REGION IX, ZAMBOANGA CITY
  1. The location of the Project is in Kabasalan, ZamboangaSibugay covering the specific abaca areas owned by GARBEMCO.
  2. The Project was launched on July 12, 2011 attended by officers and farmer-members of the Cooperative, local officials, FIDA officials and technicians.
