Objectives

General:photo
To control the spread of abaca viral diseases at the manageable level of less than 5% of the targeted areas.

Specific:
1.To treat at least 3,850.0 hectares affected by viral diseases in:
   a. Sogod, Southern Leyte - 1,961,31 hectares
   b. Burauen, Leyte - 1,888.69 hectares

  • To train and assist at least 2,500 farmers in eradicating diseased abaca plants;
  • To generate short job opportunities for 1,100 farm-workers in disease eradication; and
  • Undertake sustained disease control and monitoring of disease re-occurrences.
